Role Overview 

A Publisher Director is responsible for a team of publisher managers and senior publisher managers; ensuring network partners are recruited, managed and developed. Besides managing a team, an Account Director also manage a portfolio of key partners. 

The publisher director objectives include: 

  • growing and maintaining partner relationships with key publishers in your market, advising and guiding on how to maximize their earnings by partnering with Tradedoubler.
  • recruiting and reactivating publishers of high potential while upholding the quality of the network and ensuring it lives up to Tradedoubler’s Network Quality priority. 
  • working with Business Development on operationalizing a path of increased product adoption among Tradedoubler’s publisher-facing products as best suits the partner’s needs

A publisher Director creates key partnership development plans that the teams can use to effectively manage, grow and retain their publishers.  A publisher Director will work closely with the Head of Client Services to ensure resources are utilised efficiently and effectively. 

Robust commercial awareness, strong negotiation skills, identifying and pushing through business development opportunities across all partners and clients, a publisher Director will also actively seek and implement efficiencies across the whole team as well as being able to drive forward innovative and creative solutions. 

Key Personal Responsibilities  

  • Provides management, support and development opportunities to the team
  • Supports the Head of Client Services to identify cross selling opportunities, works with the Head of client Services to close those opportunities
  • Ensure ongoing recruitment of new high potential publishers inside & outside Tradedoubler network (negotiations, setup new deals…) aligned with advertisers needs
  • Identify new projects/business opportunities to increase affiliate revenue and sell Tradedoubler’s advertising products to publishers
  • Introducing new innovative business models to the network to establish new types of revenue generating partnerships
  • Be the knowledge driver on publisher technologies/trends in your market  to capture new opportunities
  • Work with various traffic types that include Desktop, Mobile and Programmatic advertising
  • Developing multi-level relationships within the client’s business
  • Working with Sales team in securing sector client wins
  • Drive weekly team meetings and make the team responsible for their numbers
  • Participates in client re-pitches and new business pitches
  • Create and manage a main partners ‘dashboard’ reporting methodology using our BI to easily and effectively communicate key messages about our network to key audiences
  • Support and oversee the execution of partners management plans
  • All partners details, actions and administration are updated in our CRM system
  • Prepare and present quarterly strategic business reviews for your own partners portfolio
  • Join quarterly strategic business reviews for your teams portfolio
  • Identifying and tracking market trends & opportunities and incorporating actions to utilize them to grow clients business and develop innovations
  • KPI’s: 
  • Staff retention and development
  • Qualitative KPIs related to account management and recruitment objectives
  • Quantitative KPIs related to revenue goals based on maintaining current business and securing upsell opportunities with a set of partners as well as driving new business related to publisher recruitment

Professional Requirements 

  • Strong team leadership skills

  • Strong knowledge of local media landscape and key actors
  • Minimum 4 year experience in digital marketing
  • Proven 4 years’ successful account management and/or business development
  • Relevant BSc/MSc/MA degree preferred with strong record of academic success
  • Strong knowledge of online marketing and affiliate types
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze trends and take actions
  • Strong strategic thinker with demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrable influencing skills and good commercial awareness
  • Confident communicator with proven oral and written presentation skills
  • Interest in developing team mentoring, coordination and management skills
  • Great team worker with strong organizational & multi-tasking skills
