Publisher Spotlight: Widilo 

We caught up with Sabrina to discuss all things Widilo, have a read today!


Can you briefly introduce yourself?

My name is Sabrina, I’m Head of Global accounts. I’ve been working for Widilo for a year and a half now and more generally have been in the affiliate industry for over four years.


Can you introduce Widilo and the core business values? was launched originally in France with the purpose of providing the best deals to online shoppers around Europe, and was launched in the UK last year. It has proven to be one of the country’s most rewarding cashback and promo code websites, where you can both find voucher codes for your favourite stores and earn cashback with a wide range of online retailers.

What would you say are the biggest benefits for an advertiser working with Widilo?

Widilo offers the highest cashback rates, meaning that we pay the user 100% of the commission. This strategy is both great for customer relations and loyalty. Widilo offers not only cashback but also the latest offers and codes on the merchant pages.

Also, Widilo being very successful in other markets with in Spain and in France, we are seeing a lot of synergies with Advertisers operating in all these markets.


Tell us more about your audience and what types of advertisers do you work best with?

Our main audience is 25-35 year-olds, 70% women and 30% men. We work well with a broad range of advertisers from retail to travel or even banking.


What makes Widilo an exciting company?

Working for such a young company means that much is to be done and it gives you the opportunity to take a crucial part in the development of the company; making it both challenging and exciting!


Any exciting plans coming up in the next 12 months?

Getting more and more users to purchase through obviously! Honestly, our technical roadmap is very busy as we are trying everything to make sure that the UX and UI on Widilo meet user expectations. This includes better customer support, more perks, more benefits, more merchants, higher cashback rates and more reason for users to use!


Where do you think is the Affiliate space heading to in the next year and what are the main market disruptions?

The Affiliate space is moving alongside of society trends. Advertisers require more quality and content ( media and influencer partnerships, articles, new types of display exposures) and also ways to understand and reach their audience better.

Well, Widilo is already on that trend with its own blog posts, dynamic content, working on media partnerships and combining both cashback and voucher codes to offer more targeted and relevant deals.

Many disruptive innovations appeared during recent years. White-label voucher sites disrupted our industry and will continue to do so. The potential of these partnerships between Media groups and Affiliate publishers is huge. These publishers are becoming swiftly Commerce Content Platform.

Widilo does not have the chance to partner with a Premium Media group yet in the UK but it’s on the roadmap. We are partnering with Le Figaro in France and El Mundo in Spain, 2 of the largest newspapers in the world and the 2 White-label voucher sites we operate for them are leaders in their markets.


What is the most exciting time of year for you as a business?

I would like to meet the Cashback or Voucher publisher that doesn’t answer Black Friday to this question! Beginning of winter and summer sales are also exciting (and busy) times! Yet, we do create exciting events all year round to offer the best deals to our users (Travel, Easter, French Days, Back to School…).

Last Black Friday 2019 (Friday 29th of November), we had a total of half a million visitors globally (+50% compared to 2018) of which took a great part in for the very first time in our company’s history.


Is there anything else you’d like our advertisers to know?

Our company has been operating in the affiliate industry since 2012 (already 8 years) and our mission statement has always been advertisers first.

Without advertisers, we wouldn’t have any discounts or cashback to offer to online buyers.


What is one fun fact about Widilo?

Originally launched in 2017, Widilo was not a Cashback solution but a chatbot! Online buyers could go on Facebook Messenger or download the Widilo app to their smartphones and chat with a virtual assistant that was giving them the best deals or discounts they needed. Widilo as a chatbot was a big hit in France in 2016 and 2017 but it was very complicated to monetize. Therefore we decided in 2018 to transform the chatbot in a website providing Cashback.
