Check out our interview with Kevin Vercalsteren, Digital Marketing Graduate, Paid Social & Affiliates Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, he discussed the different products and services they offer and how it creates more opportunities in their program, among some information about the company and his thoughts on the market.

 

Can you briefly introduce yourself?

I recently joined Thomas Cook as a digital marketing future leaders graduate, after graduating from a master of International Business in London and a master of Business Administration in Brussels. Being originally from Belgium and after studying for one year in London, I moved right after my graduation to Peterborough to learn more about the different digital marketing channels within Thomas Cook.

 

Can you introduce Thomas Cook and the core business value?

Thomas Cook’s vision to be the most loved holiday company highlights the customer focus of a business which was founded in 1841. Over time, we have become known for our service, quality and reliability. By providing our services to over 22 million customers each year, Thomas Cook Group truly is an international company which puts the customer at its heart.

Moreover, innovation is deeply embedded and embraced in our culture, as we are constantly looking for ways to offer our customers the best possible holidays.

 

What sets Thomas Cook’s affiliate program apart from others?

We offer a wide variety of products and services related to travel. This creates many opportunities for both large affiliates and smaller ones targeting a certain customer segment. We are always keen to work together with affiliates of various sizes and backgrounds, so please feel free to apply to our program at any time.

Transparency and striving for mutual gains are the key elements of our affiliate program. Therefore, we are always open to suggestions from affiliates to boost performance. We can offer holidays specifically designed for their audience, and if they would like to promote something more unique, why not have a look at our own branded hotels?

When targeting families, why not promote our Sunwing resorts? They offer lots of activities and are home to our Lollo&Bernie mascots. Looking to escape the ordinary? Do you have any upcoming promotions or sales affiliates should be aware of?

We have special offers and great deals running throughout the whole year. Moreover, we promote an open and transparent communication with all our partners. Therefore, every affiliate which is part of our program receives an update as soon as a new promotion goes live.

 

What do you most enjoy about affiliate marketing?

Beyond a doubt the diversity. Every day is different, with its own opportunities and challenges. Quick learning and adapting constantly is key if you want to be and remain successful. Furthermore, affiliate marketing is both data and creative driven which creates opportunities to work with people from various backgrounds. At my current role, I feel I can put the knowledge I acquired at university into practice and gain invaluable know-how by working with digital marketing specialists on a daily basis.

 

What is one fun fact about Thomas Cook?

Thomas Cook began his international travel company in 1841, with a successful one-day rail excursion at a shilling a head from Leicester to Loughborough on the 5th of July.
